The event in September which hosted 104 films, both short and long, awarded ‘Hasti’ with Student Short Film prize and Monsef’s ‘Ardak’ with its first ever international trophy, Best Interpretation award. Both films are products of Iranian Young Cinema Society (IYCS), Tabriz and Tehran office, respectively. ‘Hasti’ was competing with 35 other short films in the section.
In a related story, Farabi Cinema Foundation will participate with 4 movies in the 40th São Paulo International Short Film Festival. ‘'A House on 41st Street,’ a psychological drama by Hamidreza Ghorbani and 'Bench Cinema' by Mohammad Rahmanian will be in competitive section. In special features, Vahid Mousaian’s ‘Beautiful and Chic’ (natively rendered ‘Ghashang and Farang’) and Farhad Mehranfar’s ‘Dream of Water’ will be screened.
